3. Exercise: “Heel” with reward
Goal: The dog should learn to walk close to your side.
Execution:

Take a few treats in your hand and hold them close to your hip.

Lure your dog into the heel position by holding the treats at your side.

Walk a few steps forward while praising your dog and giving her a treat every now and then if she stays by your side.

Gradually increase the distance before giving a reward.
Tip: This exercise can also be done indoors or in the garden to minimize distractions and reinforce the exercise.
